From First Inquiry to the Day You Take the Keys
Here's how buying a boat from us works, step by step. Timing varies with the boat, financing, and weather, so we'll give you a real date once we know which boat you've chosen.
Inquiry and Fit
Tell us how you plan to use the boat, where you'll keep it, and your budget. We'll suggest boats that fit, new or pre-owned, and answer questions about size, power and running costs.
Pay the Visit Fee
Once we've found boats that fit, a visit fee books your visit. We bring the boat to you, so the fee depends on where you are and starts at a minimum of $250. We confirm your exact amount when we reply to your inquiry and, after the fee is received, we schedule your visit and sea trial. Only 30% of the visit fee is refundable.
See It and Take a Sea Trial
Visit to see the boat in person and arrange a sea trial so you can feel how it handles. For pre-owned boats we recommend an independent marine survey and engine inspection before you commit.
Price, Financing and Paperwork
We put the full price in writing, including taxes, registration and any fees, and can point you toward marine lenders. We'll walk you through the bill of sale, title and registration paperwork.
Deposit and Preparation
When you're ready, a deposit holds the boat. We prepare it for handover and complete any work we've agreed to in writing.
Delivery and Handover
Take delivery at our location, or arrange transport to your marina, ramp or home. Before you leave we go through the boat's systems with you and hand over the keys and documentation.
Financing options
We don't lend directly. Many buyers finance through a marine lender, or through their own bank or credit union. We'll walk through the options at your consultation, alongside a full written quote before anything is signed.
